NSW has some absolutely amazing national parks, trails and places to ride and these routes are absolutely no exception!
A huge thanks to Kyell Linc & Timmy Doman who have spent a huge amount of time researching, riding and documenting these three epic bickpacking routes so that everyone can join in on the adventure.
Aside from just creating and passionately documenting these routes, they have also created a fantastic Facebook page for each individual bikepacking route (links provided below) essentially forming a community behind each route.
North West Summits Trail →880km +8257m, 65% Gravel
Very Hard
Take in some of the best sights North West NSW has to offer. Highlights include summiting Mt Kaputar, The Warrumbungles and Coolah Tops, and other highlights including Yarrie Lake, The Pilliga, and the country hospitality along the way.
Most of the trail consists of good gravel roads, however significant sections are difficult and remote, and should only be attempted by experienced riders. All riders should be well prepared for any weather conditions and for things not going to plan – it can get extremely hot during the warmer months, snow isn’t uncommon at the higher elevations and water can be hard to come by outside of the towns.
Those that take on the trip will be rewarded with an excellent experience of North Western NSW and some of the most epic trails and scenery in all of Australia.

This 423k loop is best completed over 5+ days, as it traverses very remote and potentially challenging terrain. It is crucial to stock up on supplies and prepare accordingly for the journey.
